Lookup Modal Bug in v13.4.0 - "No Results Found" State Cannot Be Cleared #12409

Hi team,

We've recently upgraded to ASP.NET Zero v13.4.0 and noticed a potential issue with lookup modals.

When performing a search that returns no results, the lookup modal enters a "No results found" state. After that point, even if we clear the search input, the modal does not refresh or return to the original list of items, it stays stuck in the "no results" view.

We're specifically seeing this behaviour when using the "Login as this tenant" flow from the Tenants screen, which triggers the user lookup modal.

Could you please confirm if this is a known issue or advise on a fix/workaround?

    Hi @hra

    After performing a search in the modal, do you press the "Search" button or the Enter key again after clearing the search input? Are you performing this action on an entity with a Lookup modal using Power Tools? Is your UI type Angular or MVC?

    Could you provide more details so we can reproduce this issue? I tried to recreate it in the version you specified, but I was unable to encounter the same behavior.

    Hi,

    Whether using the key, or the "Search" button - the result is the same. I don't know what these "Power Tools" are - so probably not.

    We are Angular + .Net Core

    These are the steps

    1. log in to default tenant
    2. go to Tenants page
    3. choose a tenant a click "log in as this tenant" - you are presented with a list of users
    4. click in the search field and type some text that will return zero results
    5. attempt to clear the search box to get any results to show in the list - it is not possible

    Even if you enter the name of a user you know exists now, it will still always show zero results, until you refresh your browser

    Hi @hra

    Thanks to you, I was able to reproduce the problem. I created an issue for this, you can follow the developments here. To solve it, update the refreshTable method in the "common-lookup-modal.component.ts" file as follows.

    refreshTable(): void {
        this.paginator.changePage(this.paginator.getPage());
        this.getRecordsIfNeeds(null);
    }
